Issues of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (Mintrud) is a federal executive body responsible for drafting and implementing government policy and legal regulation in a number of areas: demography, labour, living standards, income level, labour remuneration, pension coverage, social security (other than mandatory medical insurance), labour conditions and protection, social partnership, labour relations, employment, labour migration, alternative civil service, state civil service (other than labour compensation issues), social security for the population, including for families, women, children, senior citizens and veterans, emergency victims, custody and guardianship of incapacitated or partially capacitated adults, as well as social services for the population, orthopaedic aid, the rehabilitation of the disabled, medical and social expert appraisal. The Ministry is also responsible for state property management and public services in the relevant area.
